From Edgeland Nursery in Eagle Creek, Oregon, these plants will come wrapped in burlap and should be potted or planted immediately. Pre-order for pickup on the next second Saturday of the month.
 
Slender cinquefoil is an upright, clump-forming perennial, commonly 1½–3 feet tall. It performs in full sun to part shade and is adaptable to a wide range of soils, from seasonally moist meadow soil to drier, well-drained ground. Long-stalked basal leaves are divided into narrow toothed leaflets, and branching stems carry many bright yellow five-petaled flowers in summer.
 
Physical Characteristics
• Leaves: Mostly basal and palmately divided into 7–9 toothed leaflets; foliage varies from green and lightly hairy to distinctly woolly beneath.
• Flowers: Bright yellow, five-petaled flowers borne in open, many-flowered clusters from early to late summer.
• Stems: Several ascending to upright stems, typically 16–32 inches tall.
• Fruit: Numerous small smooth achenes develop in the center of each flower.
 
Habitat and Distribution
• Native Range: Broadly distributed across western and northern North America, including the Pacific Northwest.
• Environment: Grasslands, meadows, open forest, mountain slopes, shrub-steppe, and seasonally moist sites; different regional forms occupy both damp and dry habitats.
• Ecology: The open flowers are accessible to many pollinators, including bees, flies, butterflies, beetles, moths, and wasps.
