Wild Rocket arugula is a perennial relative of garden rocket. Although still bright and peppery, wild arugula seeds deliver a far more complex and subtle profile compared to traditional culinary arugula. And just like wild dandelion, wild arugula is a persistent and weedy perennial that has found its way into the kitchen as a mild and savory component to many leafy greens and salad mixes. Ready for harvest in about 6 weeks.
Packs of ~60 seeds
When to plant: Direct sow March–May and again August–September.
How to plant: Direct seed outdoors; arugula does not benefit from transplanting.
Seed depth: ¼ inch
Spacing: Thin to 4–6 inches for full leaves, or closer for baby greens.
Notes: Arugula thrives in cool Pacific Northwest weather and grows quickly in spring and fall. Hot summer conditions cause bolting and stronger flavor; partial shade and frequent harvest help extend the season.
