From Edgeland Nursery in Eagle Creek, Oregon, these plants will come wrapped in burlap and should be potted or planted immediately. Pre-order for pickup on the next second Saturday of the month.

Sticky cinquefoil is a softly hairy herbaceous perennial, generally 1–2 feet tall and about 1 foot wide. It grows in full sun to part shade and tolerates a range of soils, including clay, loam, and sandy soil, with best growth in moderately moist, well-drained conditions. The plant forms a leafy clump with reddish stems and produces loose sprays of creamy yellow five-petaled flowers from late spring into summer.

Physical Characteristics
• Stems: Upright to spreading, often reddish, and covered with glandular or soft hairs that can give the plant a slightly sticky feel.
• Leaves: Soft, divided leaves with toothed leaflets, usually concentrated toward the base and lower stems.
• Flowers: Cream to pale yellow, five-petaled flowers held in open clusters above the foliage; blooming can continue through much of summer.
• Fruit: Numerous small, dry achenes form in the center of each spent flower.
 
Habitat and Distribution
• Native Range: Western North America, with several regional forms occurring from British Columbia south through the western United States.
• Environment: Meadows, grasslands, open woods, slopes, stream edges, and other open sites ranging from seasonally moist to moderately dry.
• Ecology: Open flowers are accessible to a broad range of small bees, flies, beetles, and other insects.
