This is a lean, fast-draining mix designed specifically for native seed germination.
 
Unlike typical potting soils that hold a lot of moisture, this mix is intentionally less water-retentive.
 
The texture is fine enough for good seed-to-soil contact, but open enough to prevent compaction and rot over long outdoor germination periods. It performs well in milk jugs, trays, or any winter sowing setup exposed to the elements.
 
Best used for:
Winter sowing native perennials, shrubs, and trees
Cold stratification outdoors
Seeds that benefit from natural weather cycles
 
Not ideal for:
Indoor seed starting under lights
Moisture-loving annuals or vegetables
