I don't pick favorites usually, but Pacific Ninebark is my personal favorite native shrub. In spring, it produces creamy white snowball-sized flower clusters. As the flowers are pollinated, they turn pink and fade to brown over the summer. The leaves turn bright yellow in fall and then, in winter, the shrub's gorgeous russet bark and beautiful vase-shaped branches make a stunning display. Images are of a ninebark planted in 2020.
