Seed Starting: Sprouting Tray with Lid, 10" x 13"

The simplest way to grow microgreens, sprouts, wheatgrass, and cat grass at home — no soil required. The three-piece design handles the whole process: soak seeds in the mesh inner tray, transfer to the reservoir tray with a shallow layer of water below the mesh, cover with the lid to maintain humidity, and harvest in 3–10 days. The mesh keeps seeds elevated above standing water so they stay moist without rotting, and the transparent lid lets you monitor growth without disturbing the tray.

Works for a wide range of crops: mung beans, lentils, radish, broccoli, sunflower, peas, wheatgrass, cat grass, alfalfa, clover, and most other sprouting and microgreen seeds. For very small seeds like alfalfa, lay the included germinating paper over the mesh to prevent seeds from falling through.

At 10" x 13" it fits on a kitchen counter, windowsill, or shelf without taking over. The lid doubles as a humidity dome during the germination phase. Prop it slightly once sprouts are up to allow airflow and prevent damping off.

Also works as a compact soil block tray. The mesh inner tray supports soil blocks — 80–100 three-quarter-inch micro blocks or 20–25 two-inch blocks — and the built-in reservoir handles bottom watering without a separate catch tray. A right-sized option for home gardeners who don't need to fill a full 1020 flat.

Good for:

  • Microgreens — sunflower, radish, broccoli, pea shoots
  • Sprouts — mung bean, lentil, alfalfa, clover
  • Wheatgrass and cat grass
  • Small-batch soil blocking — 2" blocks and ¾" micro blocks

Microgreen and sprouting seeds available. Pre-mixed Soil Blocking Mix and soil blockers available onsite through the East Portland Plant Club Tool Library.
